Plankton had 15 minutes to spare before leaving the studio, after finishing an unrelated production. They decided to write the basics for a new song in 15 minutes, and later decided it would be interesting to make 15 minutes of music out of the basic tracks: a cellphone sample, two drum sounds, a bass solo and a string loop. Jonperman was also approached to make 15 minutes of music from the same basic material.
